2. What is Habitat for Humanity?
   Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFH seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need. Habitat has built more than 300,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1.5 million people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter.

   You browse the online catalog and choose a gift in your best friend’s name, for example. A card gets sent to her, telling her that a gift has been made to Habitat for Humanity in her honor, and somewhere, a family in need of a home benefits through the gift you provided. You can buy a box of nails, a kitchen sink, living room or an entire house—all in honor of someone you care for.
4. Why would I give this kind of gift versus a traditional gift?
   Giving a gift that helps families in need of simple, decent housing adds a very meaningful purpose to a gift. Although traditional gifts are wonderful, too, The Habitat Gift Catalog gifts are special in a way that no other gift is. They are likely the most unique gifts your loved ones will have ever gotten, and the knowledge that a family somewhere in the world is benefitting from a gift in their honor is immeasurable.
5. Am I really buying the item pictured in the gift catalog?
   The gift-giver is, in fact, simply donating to the organization in honor of a friend or family member. Making a donation in the form of a gift provides an alternate form of giving. With an online gift catalog, the giver and recipient can visualize the kinds of things their donations possibly buy—a hammer, drywall or a number of bricks.
   Although the money you donate in support of Habitat may not actually be used to buy the specific gift that you have designated, all donations will be used to directly support Habitat’s mission to provide simple, decent housing worldwide.

    Your card will be sent within a week of your order.
11. How will I know my gift was sent to the recipient?
    Habitat For Humanity will have record of when your gift card was physically sent. The gift card will be sent within a week of your order. Gift cards will be sent via United States Postal Service first class. Timing of the delivery will depend on the location of the recipient.
